Why over-the-counter spray makes it worse
Repellent sprays scatter roaches into wall voids and spread the infestation. Professional gel baits are non-repellent.
The multi-visit protocol
Visit 1: full inspection, deep gel bait placement, IGR application, monitor stations. Visit 2 (2 weeks): reassess, top up bait, address new hot spots. Visit 3 (4 weeks): near-zero activity; convert to monitoring.
The two things that guarantee success
Aggressive sanitation (dishes nightly, crumb-free counters) and access to every crack and crevice (no boxes and clutter). Roaches lose the food war and can't survive the bait.
